Autor: cristian - Data adaugarii: April 10, 2009 08:04:01 PMEuropean Finance Ministers Agree that “Great Progress Made” At G20 Categoria: Afaceri/Comert: Finante/Banci Frankfurt - European Finance Ministers agreed that "great progress was made" at the G20 summit held in London on Thursday and said that the European Central Bank is making an effort to help support economic growth in the euro zone.Speaking to reporters earlier on Friday in Prague ahead of the European Finance Ministers meeting, Germany’s Peer Steinbrueck said that "great progress" was made at the meeting and that one "shouldn’t underestimate" the results from the G20, he said. Steinbrueck also said that the U.S. was very helpful at the summit.Czech Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek echoed Steinbrueck comments, saying that the G20 summit "was extraordinarily successful". The finance minister also said that the hedge-fund rules agreed to at the summit are "sufficient". French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said that she is "very satisfied" with the results of the G20 summit, echoing comments made by a number of other euro zone finance ministers. "We have made considerable progress", the minister added. She also said that "disfunctioning" markets were addressed and that significant stimulus has been made available to emerging nations.
